Managed by Dr. Rosa M. Ríos, the activity of this department is devoted to the study of mechanisms and proteins that control cell behaviour, both on an individual level and in the context of the organ and tissue of which it forms a part with the aim of advancing in the knowledge of neoplasic, autoimmune and degenerative pathologies

CABIMER, in line with the most important international research centres, includes in its organisation units dedicated to the study of mechanisms of cell signalling and the transmission of biochemical signals from outside the cell to the nucleus.

Within this department are the following groups:

• Cell death signalling
• Cell cycle and oncogenesis
• Membrane traffic and cytoskeleton in cell dynamics
• Neuronal plasticity and neurodegenerative diseases
• Advanced therapies in neuroprotection and immune-regulation
